LIVE MUSIC AND EVENT COMPANY WILL IMPLEMENT NEW POLICY ACROSS ALL OF ITS FESTIVALS, CLUBS, AND THEATRES

Los Angeles, CA, August 12, 2021 – AEG Presents, a global leader in concerts and live events, announced today that it will be requiring proof of vaccination for entry into its owned and operated clubs, theatres, and festivals. The decision comes on the heels of the dramatic surge in Covid-19 cases as the Delta variant spreads throughout the United States. AEG Presents is either an owner or partner in such iconic venues and festivals as New York’s Webster Hall and Brooklyn Steel, The Roxy and El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas, Firefly Music Festival, Day N Vegas, The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and Coachella Music & Arts Festival, among others.

The vaccination policy, limited only as required by law, will be in full effect nationwide no later than October 1, 2021. Several venues have already been following local government vaccination mandates, with others anticipated to come in the weeks leading up to October 1. The date was chosen specifically to allow time for any eligible unvaccinated ticketholders and staff to reach fully vaccinated status should they choose to do so. Leading up to October 1, AEG Presents will be implementing a policy of showing proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of show date where permitted.

“We have come to the conclusion that, as a market leader, it was up to us to take a real stand on vaccination status,” said Jay Marciano, COO of AEG and Chairman and CEO, AEG Presents. “Just a few weeks ago, we were optimistic about where our business, and country, were heading. The Delta variant, combined with vaccine hesitancy, is pushing us in the wrong direction again. We realize that some people might look at this as a dramatic step, but it’s the right one. We also are aware that there might be some initial pushback, but I’m confident and hopeful that, at the end of the day, we will be on the right side of history and doing what’s best for artists, fans, and live event workers.”

Added Shawn Trell, COO and General Counsel, AEG Presents: “Certain states’ regulations may override our mandate, or a few artists may not want to immediately get on board with the plan, but we know that using our platform to take a strong position on vaccinations can make an impact. The message we want to send is simple and clear: the only way to be as safe as possible is to require everyone to be vaccinated. And we’re confident that others who haven’t been ready to make this full commitment yet will follow our lead.”

The vaccination policy will be implemented as an open-ended one, with any changes or reversals informed by updates relating to infection rates, transmission data, variant developments, and local and federal regulations.

“Our hope is that our pro-active stance encourages people to do the right thing and get vaccinated,” added Marciano. “We’ve already had to deliver bad news about JazzFest this week; I think everyone can agree that we don’t want concerts to go away again, and this is the best way to keep that from happening.”

  • What is considered “fully vaccinated”?

“Full vaccination” means 14 days or more following the final dose of a US FDA approved or WHO recognized vaccine against COVID-19 (e.g., Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca/SK Bioscience, Serum Institute of India/COVISHIELD and Vaxzevria, Sinopharm, and Sinovac).

  • How do I show proof of vaccination when I arrive?

Acceptable documentation may be a physical copy of a COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, a digital copy of such card or such other proof as is permitted locally. A photo of the front and back of your vaccination card will be accepted. Proof of vaccination needs to be accompanied by a photo ID.

  • What if I forget my proof of vaccination?

You won’t get in. So please don’t.

  • What if I have a medical condition or religious belief that exempts me from getting vaccinated?

Any patron needing an exemption due to a medical condition, disability or religious belief will need to complete the attached form and bring the signed form along with a proof of a negative COVID test (molecular, PCR or antigen) that was administered by an official testing center to the event. Test must be taken no more than 72 hours prior to entry. Home testing kit results will not be accepted for entry.

  • WHAT IF I HAVE TICKETS TO A SHOW ON OR AFTER OCTOBER 1, 2021 AND WON’T BE FULLY VACCINATED IN TIME?

Beginning October 1, 2021, you are required to be fully vaccinated to attend. All original purchasers were sent emails with the new requirements and given a window of time to request a refund, if applicable.

  • I have no intention of getting vaccinated, so what now?

We wish you would reconsider your choice because this is a matter of public health, and we won’t get to have nice things like normal concerts without masks unless everyone gets vaccinated.

Based on your event date, 8/16/2021-8/26/2021 and 9/20/2021-9/26/2021 were the refund windows. Refunds outside of this window will not be granted. If your local mandate is equal to or more strict than our current company policy, no refunds are available.

For all AXS ticket purchases after 8/12, buyers are prompted with a health policy pop up and must acknowledge the vaccination requirement before they are able to purchase.

  • What about attendees under the age of 5?

As the vaccine has not been approved for use on kids under age 5, a proof of a negative COVID test (molecular, PCR or antigen) that was administered by an official testing center will be required. Test results must be dated within 72 hours of the event.

  • I’m visiting from another country, where other Covid vaccines are approved for use (AstraZeneca, for example), will I be able to get in?

Yes, as long as you’re considered fully vaccinated.

  • IF NEGATIVE TESTS ARE ACCEPTED FOR MY EVENT – WHAT KIND OF TESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED?

A negative COVID-19 test result (molecular, PCR or antigen) that was administered by an official testing center. Test results must be taken within 72 hours of the event. Home testing kit results will not be accepted for entry.

Reminder: Attendees and staff are required to show proof of vaccination for entry into venues owned and operated by AEG Presents.

  • Will I still have to wear a mask?

Where not required by law, we are STRONGLY ENCOURAGING you to continue wearing a mask at our events. It stops the spread of disease (this summer cold that went around was no walk in the park either), and the Delta Variant is highly contagious, even among the fully vaccinated.
